Last month 21.877 new cars were registered in the Netherlands. A decrease of 16,8 percent compared to August 2020 (26.294). In total, 211.460 new cars have been registered up to and including August of this year, 3,4 percent less than in 2020 (218.901). This is apparent from the official sales figures of the RAI Association, BOVAG and RDC.

The recovery of car sales in the Netherlands is still difficult. The recovery is being slowed down to a large extent by the ongoing global shortages of computer chips. As a result, waiting times for new passenger cars are increasing and the available stocks are also smaller BOVAG.
