If we can believe Andreas Scheuer, we can travel into the future from next year. The Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure invites everyone to travel to Hamburg between 11 and 15 October 2021 and visit the 27th ITS World Congress. Hamburg is an ideal location for the congress. The city is not only home to fascinating testing grounds and innovative projects, for years very creative solutions have been developed to solve transport problems in urban areas. And where innovations in mobility come together, the TOMP API is never far away as part of the solution.

mobility of the future

The common thread of the congress is: “Experience the mobility of the future now”. Experts from all over the world will meet and exchange experiences. Developing ideas together on how to get from A to B in the future, whether in cities or in the countryside. This exchange of information and knowledge about ongoing projects is important in these challenging times in which we currently live.

The World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) facilitates and influences global discussions on technology
and services. Hosted in a different location each year, ITS is an international meeting point where over 12.000 participants from Europe, America and Asia meet.

mobility

Traditional mobility is a mix of private car ownership and public transport. MaaS and MOD use a platform and personalized user interfaces to provide multimodal 'mobility' for all users with savings and productivity gains. To achieve this, changes are needed in revenue models, user habits and subsidization of public transport. The technologies underlying automated and 'smart' driving offer significant benefits for the delivery of goods. Paperwork can be reduced, while fleet utilization and cargo tracking can both be improved. Automated and electrified vehicles promise benefits for hub-to-hub and last mile traffic in cities.

TOMP

Digitizing a physical infrastructure makes mobility smarter for everyone with the associated benefits of more efficient maintenance and asset management. But how do we share data from these systems while maintaining a high level of privacy, reliability and data security? Can we upgrade legacy systems? In short, these are all questions that we are now thinking about. We do this in a European context within working groups such as the TOMP working group and at a global level within ITS, where the same TOMP API working group is a link in that large mobility chain. The demand for urban space is huge for both passengers and freight vehicles. But also active modes such as walking and cycling, and don't forget parking.

“The ITS Congresses bring together an impressive number of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) stakeholders from the public and private sectors who meet to learn from each other about the latest innovations in products, services and related practices in smart mobility. heart of the ITS Congress."

During the ITS conference will be members of the working group of the TOMP API being introduced. The presentation is on October 13, from 16:00 PM to 17:00 PM, Messe – B3 – Hall 7.
