At this time of year, it is standard for local political parties to aanval against the change of carriers. This often concerns children who, due to special circumstances, are taken from home to school by taxi. This year, Amstelveen is in the spotlight, where carrier Munckhof had a difficult start at the start of the new school year. According to the SP, parents are at a loss. In June it was already known that the carrier would change and requirements were set in the tender, so that only the price counted and, according to the municipality, a further comparison of quality was not necessary. Despite this, there are now problems and parents are not well informed about the transition.

The SP Emergency Service has received several reports from parents whose children are at home instead of at school in Amstelveen. During the summer holidays, the municipality terminated a contract with a taxi company, because of a tender process, the municipality started working with another taxi company. And now let this company have introduced a 'stop on processing applications' from the municipality.”

"We have already heard that there is even a school that is going to call in the attendance officer. It shouldn't get any crazier, the municipality will change a contract in the summer and will work with a carrier that cannot handle student transport. parents are not informed about another carrier.”

According to Roode, the solution is, for example, that the municipality should have compensated these parents and had the children transported in a private taxi. This offer should have been picked up and implemented immediately. But none of this, the municipality has only called parents that there are problems with the carrier, the children have it checked.

Meanwhile, the SP have also reached messages that a child has not been picked up from school. Everything goes wrong, and the municipality, schools and transporters are mainly busy pointing at each other instead of making sure that children get to school on time. The SP has submitted written questions to seek clarification from Alderman Berkhout of Education. It has become apparent that the transition to the new carrier, especially Munckhof, is far from spotless has expired. Children who had to miss the first weeks of school because their rides were not scheduled, an alleged recording stop and finally a child who was 'forgotten' last Monday, September 6.

According to Patrick Adriaans (SP faction), the carrier and the school point to each other or to the municipality. It should be about ensuring that children are brought to and from school on time and in a proper manner.
