“After the return of the night train to Vienna, the Netherlands has been reconnected to the night train network in Europe since May this year. The night train is a climate-friendly and popular way of international train travel. With the night train to Zurich, we are once again adding a direct connection to a European city to our timetable.”
Marjan Rintel, CEO NS
Ticket sales started today via, among others, nsinternational.nl. These can be booked 6 months in advance. The tickets are available from 38 euros for a seat, from 50 euros for a berth and the sleeping places can be booked from 90 euros. Each sleeping compartment has its own washing facility (sink with cold and warm water). As usual with the Nightjet, breakfast is included with the berths and sleeping places. There is also room for a number of bicycles on the train.
Timetable
The train leaves Amsterdam Central every evening at 20.30 pm and arrives in Zurich at 08.05 am the next morning. In the opposite direction, the Nightjet arrives in Amsterdam at 09.14 every morning. Zurich and Basel are popular destinations for both leisure and business travel. Travelers to Zurich still have to change trains in Hanover or Frankfurt, for example. From Basel and Zurich you will soon also easily travel to further destinations in Switzerland and Italy. Travelers can also travel with this night train to, for example, the Rhein-Ruhr area.

In the coming period, NS, together with partners SBB, ÖBB and DB, will dot the i's and cross the t's in order to be able to start in December. For example, we will be driving several test drives from Switzerland to the Netherlands in the coming period. Then we test, among other things, the logistical processes, the combination of different carriages with the locomotives, but we also try out the car wash at the Watergraafsmeer shunting yard, for example.
