Mobility as a service (MaaS) has been taken to the next level, with the integration of TIER's electric shared scooters and bicycles in Gaiyo. If you want to use a TIER scooter or bicycle, you can easily arrange this within the Gaiyo transport app. Electric micromobility such as TIER's is ideal for bridging the so-called first and last mile, such as the ride from your home to a station, or from a P+R to work in the city centre. The addition of TIER's e-scooters and e-bikes in Gaiyo makes it very easy to use this type of shared transport. You can plan, book, open and pay for the two-wheelers in no time at all within the Gaiyo app. Who dares to claim that partial transport is time-consuming?

Scoop

Gaiyo is the first Dutch app with which TIER has entered into an integration partnership like this. For both parties, this integration is an important step in the maturation of MaaS.

"Our mission to change mobility for good revolves in large part around creating strong partnerships. We want to make access to sustainable, multimodal mobility easy for every user. By partnering with the Netherlands' leading MaaS app Gaiyo, we can expand access to our mobility services in Utrecht and Eindhoven."

“Our partnership with TIER demonstrates how it fits into the vision of both providers. Our mission is to enable smarter mobility choices and help people access a wider range of transport options nearby. We look forward to it to bring even more sustainable mobility services to cities across the Netherlands and to make them accessible through Gaiyo. The availability of TIER electric bicycles and scooters in our app shows that consumers need one app to book all their services to get from move A to B."

TIER Mobility is a German unicorn and European market leader in the field of shared transport. The company has been active in the Netherlands since September 30, 2021. The TIER bicycles can be found in Eindhoven and Utrecht, the scooters only in Utrecht. According to TIER, other Dutch cities are likely to follow.

Clear and simple

Gaiyo's route planner includes the available TIER offer at the user's location in various route recommendations. Thanks to this service it becomes possible to choose different means of transport and also to make several combinations; depending on the (mobility) preferences of the user. The entire trip can be planned, booked and paid for with Gaiyo. Mobility has never been so clear and simple.

Payment

For the use of the TIER scooter or bicycle you pay in advance, from the Gaiyo wallet. If your costs later turn out to be less than what you reserved for, you will receive the excess paid back in your wallet. In case of a negative amount, the remaining amount will be collected automatically. The starting rate is €1 and you pay between €0,15 and €0,30 per minute, depending on the vehicle and location.
