Ryanair recently launched electric aircraft handling at eleven major European airports, Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Mallorca, Seville, Santiago, Valencia, Amsterdam Schiphol, Gothenburg-Landvetter and Oslo. As a result, the handling of aircraft, such as the trolleys that transport the luggage, are emission-free. These latest industry-leading developments represent a significant investment in sustainable operations. They reinforce Ryanair's commitment to reducing its carbon footprint and further pave the way to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Azul Handling, Ryanair's handling partner in Spain and Portugal, will now become the first carbon neutral handling company in Spain. Thanks to a €2 million investment in equipment, the airline will be able to offer zero-emission aircraft handling services at these eight major Spanish locations. This leads to an emission saving of 7,3 tons of CO1.000 per year.

As in Spain, Ryanair's aircraft handling services will become fully electric at Amsterdam Schiphol, Göteborg-Landvetter and Oslo Airport, through a partnership with Menzies Aviation. This turnaround has been made possible by providing the airport with the changing infrastructure needed for electrical equipment.

Ryanair understands that aviation has a leading role in tackling climate change and is placing greater emphasis on reducing the environmental impact of its operations. The airline's recent $22 billion investment in new aircraft will reduce fuel consumption by about 16% per seat. Ryanair focuses on partnering with industry leaders, such as Azul and Menzies Aviation, who share the same sustainability goals and support Ryanair to join the Paris Agreement. Ryanair.
