Travelers can travel to Norway by boat from April next year. The journey from Eemshaven in Groningen takes more than fourteen hours and will cost at least 225 euros per person. In addition to tourism, the "modern cruise ferry" is also intended for freight traffic, the company Holland Norway Lines reports.

From a commercial point of view, the connection will be particularly interesting from Norway, says the initiator with the announcement. “For the Norwegian holidaymaker, this offers new possibilities to reach the Netherlands in a simple and comfortable way.” The new connection would also be in line with a sustainable way of tourism. The destination from the Netherlands is Kristiansand in the south of Norway.

The first tickets go on sale this week. The first sailing will be on April 7, 2022, after which the trip will be sailed three times a week. Until now, there is only a crossing from the Eemshaven to the German Wadden island of Borkum. Earlier plans for a ferry to Scotland came to nothing last year.
