Figures from BOVAG, RAI Association and data agency RDC show that in the first ten months of this year 260.062 new passenger cars were registered in the Netherlands. That is 7,1 percent less than in the period January to October 2020, when the number of registrations was 279.992.

Mainly as a result of the worldwide shortage of computer chips, many car manufacturers are facing delivery problems this year. In addition, the (other) consequences of the corona crisis are still being felt worldwide in the car industry. In October, 24.240 new passenger cars were registered in our country, or 23,7 percent less than the 31.786 copies in the same month last year.

THE MOST REGISTERED BRANDS IN OCTOBER 2021 WERE:

  1.  KIA with 2.439 units and 10,1 percent market share
  2.  Volkswagen (325 and 9,6 percent)
  3.  Peugeot (1.698 and 7,0 percent)
  4.  Toyota (1.547 and 6,4 percent)
  5.  Ford (1.529 and 6,3 percent)
