growth market

The sale of cannabis for recreational use was legalized in Canada three years ago in 2018. Nevertheless, illegal producers still control a large part of the sales. Demand for cannabis products grew significantly last year as people were often at home during the lockdowns. The Canadian government expects the cannabis market to continue to grow in the coming years. Uber thus hopes to fight the illegal market in this way and has previously stated that it wanted to target the fast-growing cannabis market. CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in April that the company is considering home delivery of cannabis in the United States when the law allows it.
