Unfortunately, it's that time again, we have been in a heavy lockdown since last Sunday. The Netherlands is completely locked down, all the feared rules of the previous lockdown have become reality again. And this just before the holidays, when everyone still has to do their shopping and is probably somewhere in their own country at a holiday park where there is nothing to do because everything is closed there. Non-essential shops, schools and restaurants, among others, are closed again and we will again have to celebrate Christmas and New Years in a small circle this year.

Excepted services such as gas stations, pharmacies, libraries, driving schools, the notary or lawyer are open. PostNL is always super busy in these months, but due to this lockdown, it will have to work a little harder to be able to deliver all mail and packages on time in the coming weeks. The company is already taking additional measures at this time of year due to the large crowds. Due to the new lockdown, these measures will be extended until mid-January to be able to absorb the extra crowds.

The CBR announces that the theory and practical exams, tests, driving tests and courses of the CBR can continue because they fall under the essential services. According to the CBR, getting your driver's license is of great importance for mobility in the Netherlands, which is why the refresher courses for professional drivers continue as usual. The CBR naturally observes all measures and the safety and health of customers, partners and colleagues are paramount to be able to take the exam safely. Exams and theory exams can be postponed free of charge if someone has complaints.

The CBR has taken a number of extra measures and these will apply until at least 14 January. They do not make exceptions for not being able to use mouth caps. If necessary, they postpone the exam. They don't go out with more than two people, to limit the number of contacts. This means, among other things, that trainers no longer participate in the AVD exam. Trainers no longer participate in the AVB exam. Trainers no longer participate in the AM2 exam. The executive driver exam is not taken. They don't do WRM internships and RIS guidance. The mouth cap remains on within all CBR locations. The only exception applies to participants in courses, they can take off the mask when they sit down. The catering industry is of course closed to visitors. Fortunately, driving schools can still give driving lessons during this lockdown, just not after 17:00.
