The Dutch are again booking holidays en masse and are planning to travel more often this year, but some of the people are still uncertain. In order to convince that group, review and booking site Zoover is the only travel organization in the Netherlands to cancel the mandatory deposit for a holiday.

Until the end of the month, Zoover will hold the 'Book now, pay later' promotion, whereby travelers only have to pay 2022 euros for all holidays with a departure up to and including December 100. Normally this is at least 30% of the travel sum. The rest has to be paid six weeks before departure.

The Zoover Vakantiemonitor, in which the search and booking behavior of millions of visitors to the review and booking site was analyzed, showed in January that the number of booked trips had tripled compared to the same period last year. Especially sun holidays are very popular. An own poll among 3220 website visitors showed at the end of last month that the Dutch want to go on holiday more often now that the corona pandemic is coming to an end. To make sure they can cross the border, eight out of ten holidaymakers have already received their booster shot.

Although they would like to go on holiday, a group of people still doubt whether they should book it now. "This may be due to uncertainty about corona restrictions abroad or because they do not have the money to pay for the holiday," says Lieneke Wijnia of Zoover. “We want to win over that group with this campaign. Now they can book their holiday in advance and prevent that the holiday they have set their minds on is no longer available, but they do not have to pay a large part of the travel price yet”.

Zoover is the only tour company that does this at the moment. The travel industry was hit hard during the corona pandemic and the renowned D-Reizen even went bankrupt. Zoover managed to survive the crisis and last year was the first travel organization to refund the issued vouchers for canceled trips to its customers. Wijnia: “With this temporary promotion, Zoover in many cases already pays for a large part of the trip and we give the customer some extra time to save. Before the pandemic, a low down payment was often self-evident, but due to corona, travel organizations have started to think very differently about their risks. We are now stunting because of this action, but we are also taking a well-considered risk.”
