We can hardly wait for it, and we don't have to. There are so many fun day trips that we can already do in the Netherlands. How about a day trip to The Hague? Attention Roos, Zahra, Anthony, Madelief, Senna, Leila, Jared and Amar! During the entire month of March, anyone with a flower first name can visit the Mauritshuis for free. We have two tips for those who visit The Hague or want to stay overnight.

In 2022 it will be 200 years ago that the Mauritshuis, once built as a residence for Count Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen, became a museum. They're going to celebrate! With spectacular exhibitions, a art battle for students and a wonderful anniversary book. They are festively kicking off the anniversary year with an enormous amount of flowers. The exhibition In full blossom shows the most beautiful flower still lifes from the 17e century. These paintings were immensely popular, but why? How come so many women were rock solid at this? The exhibition pays extra attention to female artists who played a major role in the development of botanical science.

Go on a journey of discovery along the most beautiful flower still lifes from the seventeenth century

In 1858, Baron Van Brienen, advisor to King Willem III, had a city palace built on the stately Lange Voorhout. He chose this location because, in addition to his Clingendael estate, he also wanted a stately accommodation in the center of The Hague to organize parties. Hotel Des Indes is without doubt one of the most beautiful places in Royal The Hague, on the leafy Lange Voorhout. The hotel is surrounded by luxury shopping streets, prominent museums, theaters and many inspiring restaurants. The Binnenhof with the Hofvijver, Noordeinde Palace, the House of Representatives, the Mauritshuis, Museum Escher in the Palace and Panorama Mesdag are all just a stone's throw away.
