"I did my 2.3 update in 2020, didn't I?" Unfortunately, this was only a temporary solution.

In exactly one year, the validity of the BCT system card will expire and it must be replaced. It is necessary to exchange this system card because otherwise the BCT will no longer work after March 21, 2023. In 2020, all on-board computers Taxi (BCT) received a 2.3 update via the manufacturer of the on-board computer. This update was required to temporarily renew the security certificate on the G2 motherboards for a period of three years.

This means that a new G21 system card must be installed in all BCTs by 2023 March 3 at the latest. The system board identifies the on-board computer and enables it to sign data. The card includes a non-personalized service certificate for authenticity. The system board is part of the on-board computer and is provided to on-board computer manufacturers.

Update

Now you might think: but I did my 2.3 update in 2020? Unfortunately, this was only a temporary workaround to ensure that the system board in the BCT would continue to operate. In 2020, it was not yet legally possible to replace the system card in the field with a non-tracking system card. That is why the IL&T and the RDW gave approval at the time to temporarily extend the security certificate on the existing G2 system cards for a period of three years. The system card is currently valid until March 21, 2023 through the 2.3 update.

waiting time

In the meantime, the Kiwa also informs you that the delivery partner AMP is currently struggling with longer waiting time for the delivery of the smart tachograph and on-board computer taxi cards than usual. Due to corona infections and quarantine of deliverers, AMP is forced to cancel and reschedule rides. Rescheduling is made more difficult for the same reasons. In order to make up for the waiting time as much as possible, the AMP has taken a number of measures, such as removing the half-days when choosing the delivery day and opening collection points throughout the Netherlands. The waiting time at these collection points is also shorter than for delivery.
