Thousands of travelers have still not received a refund for their trip that was canceled due to corona. Especially foreign airlines and platforms that sell airline tickets do not pay. This is apparent from BNR's inquiries with three large claim organisations.

About 5.000 travelers are waiting for their money. They were duped for several million euros. “They are unable to get that money back,” says Remco Kuilman of Aviclaim. “Airlines are often unreachable or they hide behind voucher schemes.”

Foreign companies in particular do not want to pay, Kuilman notices. “The highest amount is open with Ryanair. Because of the low ticket prices, these are the most affected passengers who reported to us.” It is also difficult for passengers of Iberia and Royal Air Maroc to get their money back.
