You might not think or say it right now, but we're moving in the right direction in terms of weather. The warmer months are approaching again and many people go to the sea for days. We are eager to enjoy a day at the beach enjoying the sun and the warm temperatures. The hot days in our country always cause crowds in and around the beach, parking is difficult and expensive and there are long traffic jams on the access roads. From Saturday 2 April, the Dutch Railways will again deploy four extra trains to Zandvoort aan Zee. Last year, the NS started to start earlier and to allow extra trains to run to the beach for longer.

Throughout the year, two sprinters run per hour/per direction between Amsterdam Central and Zandvoort aan Zee. In the months of April, May, June, July, August and September, four extra trains will be deployed to the beach during public holidays, weekends and when the weather is good. Travelers can see this a day in advance in the NS travel planner, then the extra trains will be visible. The NS also has the option of using fewer trains if the weather is bad, this is also visible in the NS travel planner the day before. The NS so supply matches demand. The extra beach trains will run in phases during the morning and will be phased out again in the evening.
