Arriva has been working on recruitment campaigns for some time now.
Transport company Arriva will be forced to restrict the timetable for buses in Limburg. The transport company previously announced that it would also use fewer trains in Groningen in the coming period due to absenteeism among staff. Arriva has decided in consultation with the province of Limburg to start a so-called spring timetable for the buses, reports 1Limburg.
In practice, this comes down to a holiday timetable with the addition of extra lines and/or journeys. The modified timetable for buses in Limburg will come into effect on 8 May and will apply until the summer holidays. The transport company and the Province of Limburg were faced with a dilemma, because it is not feasible to recruit new staff in the short term. According to the deputy for mobility, there were two choices.
The first was to maintain timetables with the risk of daily ride cancellations. The other choice was to limit the timetables, so that travelers can assume that the planned bus ride will go ahead. Arriva has been engaged in recruitment campaigns for some time to find new bus drivers and train drivers. The other regional carriers such as Connexxion and Keolis currently do not have a changed timetable due to absenteeism due to illness.
