Several regional transport companies have announced strikes in the Netherlands in public transport in the coming weeks. The strikes will last from Tuesday 31 May to Saturday 11 June, a fairly long period. These strikes affect transport by bus, tram and metro. It would involve 24-hour strikes in a different part of the country each time. Drivers want to enforce higher wages and a lower workload with the strikes.

This morning there were no buses in Tilburg due to an unexpected work stoppage. Bus drivers stopped their work because it was recently decided that the holiday timetable will be used in all of West Brabant and in Tilburg and the surrounding area from today May 30, 2022. Due to the limited availability of staff in public transport, including the aftermath of the corona pandemic and the shortage on the labor market, it is not possible to drive the regular timetable. Reason enough for the Arriva staff to stop working and start a conversation.

Tomorrow there may be a strike in public transport by the Arriva staff in Lelystad, Harderwijk, Dronten, Emmeloord, Zwartsluis and Den Bosch. As a result, it is possible that there are few or no buses. On Wednesday 1 June, Qbuzz drivers from the Appingedam and Koningsweg location in Groningen may be on strike. As a result, fewer buses may be driving around. HTM has announced on their website that it will be discontinuing on Thursday 2 June. As a result, no buses and trams run all day in The Hague, Rijswijk, Westland, Zoetermeer, Leidschendam and Voorburg.
