As part of its efforts to make flying more sustainable, Brussels Airlines now offers its customers the opportunity to neutralize the CO2 emissions of their flights in the same transaction as their booking, with a single click. After flight selection, they can choose one of three options to reduce CO 2 - fly neutral.

The first option is to use SAF that is currently produced from biogenic residual materials and directly reduce the CO 2 emissions are reduced. A second option is to support high-quality carbon offset projects from the non-profit organization myclimate. These promote measurable climate protection by not only CO 2 but also locally to improve quality of life and biodiversity. The third option is a combination of the first two. What's new is that these options can now be selected during the booking process, making it more convenient and attractive for the customer.

The payment is made when buying the plane ticket, so CO 2- Neutral flying is significantly easier for passengers. Moreover, Brussels Airlines encourages these options by granting additional status and miles to Miles&More members. Since the launch of the option on its website last Thursday, Brussels Airlines has seen a preliminary conversion rate of almost 7%, which is above its initial target of 5%, according to the Belgian airline

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to neutralize their flight's carbon emissions. Until now, less than one percent of online bookers have used our long-standing option to fly carbon neutral. By integrating the options into the booking transaction directly, I am sure that we will convince significantly more of our passengers to fly CO2 neutral and thus contribute to more sustainable air travel."
