More than 30.000 people have already signed up for the compact electric car.

Electric cars have become an integral part of the Dutch street scene. We get a cute compact electric car. When you see that little car, you immediately think of the famous BMW Isetta from the last century. The brand new Microlino is essentially the same car that BMW introduced almost 70 years ago, but with an electric drive.

The development of Micro Mobility Systems already started in 2016. The Microlino is available in 8 colors, divided into three versions: Urban, Dolce and Competizione. The Microlino 2.0 has no seats but a two-person sofa. All models, except for the Urban version, are fitted with a folding roof as standard, allowing extra daylight to enter the cabin.

Although the original BMW Isetta had three wheels, Micro Mobility Systems chose to take inspiration from the later models of BMW. They had four wheels for stability. In terms of performance, the microline no remarkably high eyes, but he doesn't do badly either. It is powered by a 26 hp electric motor, allowing it to reach 5 km/h in 50 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 90 km/h.

The range can be quite large. With the largest battery pack, the cart can reach 230 kilometers on a full charge. The smallest battery does 95 kilometers and the middle choice reaches 175 kilometers. In the interior you see a modern, but small instrument panel with a small touchscreen next to it. Everything you need is here and can be operated from here.

Getting in can still be a bit of a challenge, because the steering column stays in place. On the BMW Isetta from the 50s, the dashboard, steering wheel and steering column moved forward when the door was opened.

BMW also introduced the BMW Isetta in 1955, an Italian-designed car that had three wheels and was powered by a 12-hp motorcycle engine. The most striking thing about this cart was, of course, the only door at the front of the vehicle.
