Member of Parliament Infrastructure, Aviation and Shipping VVD is going viral again.

Unsafe traffic situations are ahead Daniel Koerhuis an eyesore for years. That is why in the debate he presents his proposal to tackle traffic nuisance caused by parcel delivery companies. The fact that those deliverers are heavily underpaid and are also financially punished if they do not deliver the packages within a set time and therefore probably do not park properly, is of course not an argument.

Many parcel deliverers visit an average residential area every day. In fact, parcel deliverers can also just park, so sometimes just drive around for 10 minutes to place the van in a parking space and then walk a bit to the customer. We can do that, but do we want to pay more for delivery to the door? The fact that parcel deliverers are exploited obviously does not justify their driving behaviour.

enforcement

And then, for the sake of legal clarity, there is also the aspect that a parcel deliverer does not park. It is normally loading and unloading and there are different regulations for that. This group of hardworking people really don't have time to look for an empty parking space for that bus. Sometimes parcel deliverers display antisocial behaviour. Don't stop at zebra crossings, don't give way when you have to, drive through a red light, and drive over cycle paths at high speed. Of course, those who do not take other people into account must be dealt with.

aggressive reactions

It is not only the parcel deliverers, by the way. The Albert Heijn vans and the like also know how to arouse irritation by getting out in the middle of the road and ringing their customer's doorbell. We have to wait for the first ambulance that gets stuck and gets stuck behind such a van. Addressing drivers is pointless or leads to aggressive reactions.
