The permits that GO Sharing has for the provision of shared transport in Eindhoven and Tilburg have been extended. After about two years, both municipalities are positive about the shared service in their cities. In both municipalities, GO Sharing has received a combination permit, which means that the company can also offer e-bikes.

Eindhoven is the first city where GO sharing started offering shared scooters in 2019. A few months later, a permit was created and agreements were made between GO Sharing and the municipality of Eindhoven about shared transport. This permit was extended by a year last month, allowing GO Sharing to offer 200 electric shared scooters. GO Sharing has also received a license to offer 250 electric shared bicycles. In addition, the company offers shared electric cars to travel between cities.

In Tilburg, too, a new permit for shared transport was recently assigned to GO Sharing. The company may continue to offer 125 electric shared scooters in the coming year and add 50 shared scooters every six months. In addition, the company may also offer its electric shared bicycles. Starting with 125 e-bikes, with an addition of 75 shared bikes every six months. This makes GO Sharing the only multimodal provider with the largest range of shared vehicles in Tilburg and the Brabant region.

Setting rules and directing behavior
Municipalities draw up clear rules regarding the permit for shared transport. In addition, GO Sharing is committed to promoting adaptation of shared transport for all residents in various ways. For example, the company's customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and employees respond to incoming reports on the spot. Collaboration with municipalities is also essential in this regard, for example when it comes to dialogue with residents about parking shared transport.

In addition to setting clear rules, directing the correct use of shared transport is a spearhead for GO Sharing. The GO Sharing app plays an important technical role in this. For example, correct parking actions are already rewarded with free driving minutes and a promotional rate is offered for the shared vehicles in places where there are a lot of them, so that they can be used again more quickly. Coming soon GO Sharing also a loyalty program in which desired use of the shared service can be rewarded even more specifically, for example on the basis of agreements made with a municipality.

“Shared transport is new and that means that we are pioneering on many fronts. Together we think about how sustainable shared transport can become part of daily life. Collaboration with municipalities to shape policy is an important part of this. Fortunately, many municipalities see the potential of electric shared transport and the results already achieved speak for themselves: in two years, more than 100.000 residents of Eindhoven and Tilburg have created a GO Sharing account and almost 30 percent of car journeys are replaced with our shared transport. Nationally, 7.191 tons of CO2 emissions have already been saved thanks to GO Sharing. That is comparable to 8.126 flights between Amsterdam and Barcelona.”
