From 28 July to 22 August, traffic on the A2/N2 Randweg Eindhoven will experience serious traffic disruption in both directions due to the construction of a tunnel. The extra travel time can be up to 60 minutes during busy periods.

Through traffic is advised to travel via the A73 and A16. For local traffic, the advice is to travel at quiet times as much as possible, or to opt for alternative transport. Keep an eye on the current traffic information and travel well prepared.

adapted traffic situation

During the work, there will be a modified traffic situation on the A2/N2 Eindhoven ring road between the Batadorp and Leenderheide interchanges, in both directions. There are shifted and fewer lanes available that are also narrower. As a result, a lower maximum speed also applies.

Railway maintenance

Travelers who want to take the train should also take extra travel time into account. During the realization of the A2/N2 underpass in Eindhoven, work will be carried out on 2 routes between Utrecht and Eindhoven.

There are no trains between Culemborg and Geldermalsen between 14 July and 6 August. From 9 to 26 August 2022 there will be no trains between Eindhoven and Den Bosch/Tilburg. Replacement bus transport will be used for train passengers.

ProRail, NS, the Municipality of Eindhoven and Rijkswaterstaat have good mutual coordination on this, so that the nuisance for travelers is limited as much as possible.

Work Municipality of Eindhoven

The Municipality of Eindhoven will realize a tunnel under the A2/N2 in order to improve the accessibility of Eindhoven Airport Eindhoven, Brainport Industries Campus (BIC), Westfields and Flight Forum on the west side and the Goods Distribution Center (GDC) Eight on the east side and to reduce congestion.

The traffic nuisance mentioned above is part of the preparation of the tunnel underpass under the A2/N2. During the aforementioned summer period, the tunnel tubes will be pushed under the A2/N2.

More information about the work in the summer and the new tunnel underpass of the A2/N2 can be found on the website of the Municipality of Eindhoven (eindhoven.nl/noordwest) or here.
