The Netherlands has committed itself to limiting global warming to a maximum of 2 degrees Celsius by 2050. To achieve this, CO2 emissions must be significantly reduced. An ambition is that from 2040 all new trucks and delivery vans in our country will run without emissions. This green paper discusses the steps that need to be taken by transport companies on their way to emission-free transport.

As a specialized insurer for logistics and transport, by road and water, TVM recently published its latest green paper: 'Your road to zero emissions: time for action'. This TVM green paper, a white paper in the green house style of TVM, is completely devoted to the transition to emission-free transport and provides transport operators with the necessary information and handles.

The Netherlands aims to reduce CO2030 emissions by 2% by 49 compared to 1990. Legislation and regulations will be tightened to achieve this, among other things. To achieve this ambition, the goal has been set to have 2030% of all new heavy goods vehicles emission-free by 30. The transition to zero-emission transport is therefore approaching and it is happening faster than many think. Companies that are active in (urban) distribution in two and a half years will actually have to believe it and are already having to deal with preparations.

The transition to zero-emission transport has far-reaching consequences for the entire company. That is why TVM has commissioned Panteia to write a green paper about the developments that will affect the transport operator as a result of the transition to zero-emission transport. This specifically concerns the steps that the transport operator must take to achieve zero-emission transport. These steps have been published in the TVM green paper 'Your road to zero emissions: time for action'.
