Employers say so far that there is no room for these improvements

The FNV trade union is committed to an increase in wages. You should be able to earn a living wage with work. The work in the taxi & healthcare transport is indispensable and responsible work. Without these taxi drivers, a large group of people would be at home and children would not come to school. A responsibility should also be properly rewarded. On the other hand, there are employers who say that so far there is no room for this improvement in the hourly wage. That is why the union wants to increase the pressure and calls on taxi drivers to sign a petition to draw for a better collective bargaining agreement.

14 euros per hour

The FNV is agreeing higher wages. Many collective labor agreements have been established with the threat of action. Wages have increased by an average of 2,79%. This is apparent from an interim position for the 2022 collective labor agreement season based on 142 collective agreements concluded. The FNV now agrees on a minimum of 1 euros per hour in almost 5 in 14 collective labor agreements. The wage trend is up, but because inflation is higher, people's purchasing power is declining.

"Low- and middle-income people in particular are now being hit extra hard by inflation, which increases the skewed growth. And that after a decade in which they already noticed too little of economic growth. Employers have deliberately hardly invested in them. Employees are undervalued and flexibilised, while doing important work at the bottom of the labor market."

FNV believes that the requirements are reasonable and also asks for clarification of the agreements regarding max/flex and break times. An hour worked is a paid hour. For the union, time worked is also paid time. In addition, the union indicates that being sick is not a choice. When you are sick, you should work on your recovery and not worry about whether you can afford to be sick. The waiting day in case of illness is therefore a fine for being sick. That is not only unacceptable, but also disrespectful.

The drivers are a very important part of the total transport process and deserve a good loon† Perhaps clients can take this into account when making a subsequent purchase so that the staff shortage is in any case not due to the reward for their diligent work. That is also the duty of the clients to monitor and check this.

A responsibility must also be properly rewarded.
