More than 80 percent of Ghent hotel rooms have already been reserved for this weekend.

We had to wait more than 1000 days for it, but last Friday music finally played back on the party squares. The Gentse Feesten are back and everyone will have heard that after the festive opening bang.

It will not be too hot today and therefore ideal party weather. By far the best way to get to the Gentse Feesten is by public transport. Thanks to it Duo Tickets . Weekend Tickets you also drive (in Belgium) to Ghent with a 50% discount. Gent-Dampoort station is within walking distance of the party zone. Travelers who get off at Gent-Sint-Pieters can easily transfer to a shuttle tram that runs around the clock. Taxis await you at Sint-Pieters station, Dampoort station or at other strategic places. Please note that taxis are also no longer allowed to drive in the Festive Zone after 13 pm.

"Most guests come from Europe, the Netherlands remains the most popular country."

As usual, it was pleasantly busy on Friday during the kick-off of the Gentse Feesten. It will be ten 'Beautiful days' and tonight certainly with the arrival of Johan Verminnen and Frank Boeijen. If you come to the Gentse Feesten by car, you can leave behind at the Feestenparkings (park-and-rides). Around the Festivities Zone is a large zone reserved for residents. Visitors are not allowed to park there: not with the free visitor's ticket, nor with a parking ticket for people with disabilities.

party buses

The Ghent Festivities have grown into one of the largest folk festivals in Europe and last year they were recognized as Flemish intangible heritage. The night network does not run during the Gentse Feesten, but is replaced by the party buses. Like previous editions, these depart from Gent Zuid, each time at 0.30 am, 2.15 am and 4 pm.
