Which campsite can call itself Camping of the Year 2023 next year? The ANWB recently announced the nominees. It's now up to camping enthusiasts to vote for their favorite campsite. You can vote until October 30. The winners will be announced in January 2023.
A jury of experts selected a total of 60 campsites in three different categories, each with ten campsites in the Netherlands and abroad. This year the categories are:
- The best family campsite by the sea
- The best small campsite
- The most special rental accommodation on the campsite
The best family campsite by the sea
At these campsites, children can play to their heart's content with friends and the sea is a maximum of 500 meters from the campsite. The campsites selected by the jury have at least 4,5 ANWB stars, a restaurant, rental accommodations, playground and entertainment for the children.
The best small campsite
These campsites are often located in nature and have fewer than 60 pitches. The camping pitches are spacious. Facilities and activities (such as a swimming pool, supermarket or entertainment) are often limited or non-existent; campers mainly come for the peace and quiet. The campsites selected by the jury have at least four ANWB stars.
The most special rental accommodation
Renting a stay at the campsite is becoming increasingly popular. Campsites are responding to this with increasingly attractive rental accommodations. This category contains the most special rental accommodations.
The international jury consists of: chairman Bert Gorissen (Camping Champion), Josipa Cvelić Bonifačić (camping manager in Croatia), Martin Juhos (Swedish interest group for campsites, SCR), Eicke Schüürmann (journalist camping sector), Goof Lukken (lecturer Breda University of Applied Sciences) , Rob Vrolijks (camping and water sports industry consultant) and Jan van Zelst (ANWB camping inspector).
The election of the ANWB Campsite of the Year is organized annually by the KampeerKampioen. The categories are updated every year. With the election, the ANWB wants to inspire and inform its members about the most beautiful camping sites in the Netherlands and abroad.
