Compared to July 2021, 17,6 percent fewer new passenger cars were registered in the Netherlands last month, according to official figures from BOVAG, RAI Association and RDC. 22.068 cars were registered, compared to 26.777 in the same month a year ago.

In the first seven months of 2022, 175.755 new passenger cars were delivered, almost 14.000 - or 7,3 percent - less than last year in the period January to July. Delivery problems due to, among other things, the global shortage of computer chips continue to affect the car industry. 1 in 5 new cars sold this year is fully electrically powered, more than 40 percent runs (only) on petrol, 37 percent has a hybrid drive and less than 2 percent is a diesel.

  2. Volkswagen (1.998/ 9,1 percent)
  3. Toyota (1.865/8,5 percent)
  4. Peugeot (1.541/ 7,0 percent)
  5. Hyundai (1.473/ 6,7 percent)
