PostNL offers all its mail deliverers a permanent contract. This applies to both deliverers who are already employed by PostNL, and to new colleagues who start working as postal deliverers. This means that more than 1.000 postal deliverers with a temporary appointment now receive a permanent contract.

"We are taking this step as a token of appreciation and confidence towards all colleagues who are committed to postal delivery day in day out, so we can offer them more certainty. Salary increase and bonus

Until now, postal deliverers were offered a permanent contract after seven months. Last June, PostNL reached an agreement with the unions on a wage increase of more than 8 percent for its nearly 16.500 postal deliverers. In addition, new postal deliverers receive a maximum of 250 euros in bonuses in certain areas when they start working at PostNL. The wages of new young deliverers have also been increased and the work has been made more flexible. For example, in several cities, delivery guys who want to deliver mail in the evenings. With this, PostNL is targeting, among other things, schoolchildren and students who want to deliver mail as a side job, according to the report Dutch postal company.
