During the UIT week, Utrecht students have the opportunity to try out shared bicycles and scooters for free.

Brand new students in 2022 are already having a hard time. A new city, new people and a new place to call home. Unfortunately, a student room is no longer an option for everyone. With the current tightness in the housing market, there are also fewer and fewer rooms available. For many students, travel is therefore the only option. Don't have your own bike in the city yet? No problem! During the UIT week, Utrecht students are given the opportunity to try out shared bicycles and scooters for free.

With the e-bike to college, or with the e-cargo bike pick up your Marktplaats bargain The start of a course or study is exciting. How do you move between home and college, as long as you don't have a room yet? Or once you have a room, how do you pick up that beautiful desk chair from marktplaats? Fortunately, you don't always have to have a working bike ready. In Utrecht there is a wide range of shared transport such as e-bikes, e-cargo bikes and scooters. This way, all students travel quickly, easily and sustainably through Utrecht.

Free travel credit for UIT-week participants

During the Utrecht Introduction Time (UIT), new students are prepared for the new academic year. Goedopweg offers, in collaboration with Gaiyo, the possibility to try out shared bicycles and scooters for free. After registration, prospective students can receive a one-time €10 travel credit in the Gaiyo app. You can register until Thursday 18 August via the UIT-week app. So be quick!

In Goedopweg, the municipalities of Utrecht and Amersfoort, the province of Utrecht, Rijkswaterstaat Central Netherlands and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management are working together to ensure good accessibility and quality of life in the Utrecht region. Goedopweg offers (starting) students from MBO, HBO and WO the freedom to decide for themselves how they want to arrange their transport. We do this to find out more about how students use shared transport in addition to the public transport that is already available. After registration, participants will receive €5 travel credit. When this credit has been spent in full, participants will receive an invitation to a short survey. After completing this survey, the remaining €5 travel credit will be deposited in the participant's wallet.
