So we are not done with the strikes among personnel at the Dutch Railways. Where it was the turn of the West and North regions last week, it is now North Holland's turn. On Sunday evening, travelers were informed by NS by e-mail. Today is the third day of the relay strike. The trade unions FNV Spoor, VVMC and CNV are also taking action again today. The promotion means that unfortunately there are virtually no trains running all day in the vast majority of the province of North Holland. NS advises to choose alternative transport from, to and within this region or to postpone travel by train. According to NS, no alternative bus transport can be used.

In order to run the timetable as well as possible in the rest of the Netherlands, they run trains to and from Voorhout station, Amsterdam Bijlmer, Almere Oostvaarders and Utrecht Central. Noord-Holland plays an important role in the timetable. As a result, travelers in the rest of the country may also be affected by the strike. This means that travelers have to take longer travel times and more frequent transfers into account. Schiphol Airport is also located in the province of North Holland, the Dutch Railways makes every effort to keep Schiphol Airport accessible. During the action day, Schiphol Airport will remain somewhat accessible via Utrecht Central Station. NS advises travelers to use alternative transport for Schiphol Airport.

International train traffic is also affected by the strikes at the Dutch railways, the IC Brussels (the Intercity between Brussels and Amsterdam) runs between Rotterdam and Brussels and runs less often. The ICE to Frankfurt runs three times today from Amsterdam. The IC Berlin runs in Germany as far as Bad Bentheim. The Nightjet from Vienna does not travel further than Cologne today. The Nightjet from Zurich does not travel further than Frankfurt today. Thalys and Eurostar are not running today. Travelers are advised to advise the travel planner before departure. Tomorrow there will be strikes in the Central region and Wednesday in the South and East regions.
