This weekend on September 2, 3 and 4, the World Port Days are in Rotterdam, the largest annual maritime event in the Netherlands. This year it will be the 45th edition that will be celebrated, an anniversary. During the World Port Days, young and old will get to know companies that make the port of Rotterdam a sustainable, smart, safe and livable place and you will never be bored. This year there is a mega full program with many shows and excursions for everyone. You can book various excursions, for example a visit to the Harbor Coordination Center in the World Port Center on the Wilhelminakade. You can also take a look at the Bertschi Terminal, here the railway connects Rotterdam with Europe. You can also book a harbor photography workshop or sail with a sea tug or sailing ship. If you prefer to stay on the quay, a World Port walking tour of 7, 17 or 38 kilometers might be something to do. From the air you can see the port area of ​​Rotterdam with a helicopter flight.

Rijkswaterstaat is a proud friend of the World port days also present these 3 days. They show how it contributes to a safe waterway around Europe's largest port. Rijkswaterstaat has a stand at the head of the Wilhelminapier at Hotel New York. There are also ships from Rijkswaterstaat and you can take a look on board or get an explanation about the Rijksrederij, for example, where specialist ships are manned, managed and maintained. During this event, returnable bicycles will be available to collect as many plastic returnable bottles as possible. In exchange for handing in a plastic bottle with the cargo bike, you will receive an exclusive tote bag with an original deposit design. You can use this deposit bag at home to store your bottles before you hand them in. The organization of the World Port Days donates the proceeds of the deposit to the KNRM (Royal Dutch Rescue Company).
