On Sunday 11 and Sunday 25 September 2022, guides Niels and Laurens are organizing two thematic cycling tours in collaboration with the Info Center WW2 Nijmegen. During a tour of approximately 8 kilometers you will be taken along appealing locations that played a major role in the liberation of Nijmegen during Operation Market Garden in September 1944.

During the bike ride, all kinds of facts and stories are told about the human side of Operation Market Garden. Attention is paid to examples of brave soldiers and personal fortunes of ordinary Nijmegen citizens who suddenly found themselves between two fires, but also to the important role of the Dutch resistance during the battle. Also central is the courageous crossing of the Waal by American paratroopers, which directly led to the liberation of Nijmegen. The alternation between bicycles, historical footage, documents and props gives the story of the battle even more colour.

The cycling tour starts at 14.00 p.m. on both days and ends around 17.00 p.m. It's the starting location Information center WW2 Nijmegen. Participation costs € 10 pp and can only be paid in cash on the spot with the guides. The Museum Card is not valid. Registration is necessary. Deadline for registration is Friday 9 September (for the cycling tour on 11 September) and Friday 23 September (for the cycling tour on 25 September) before 16.00 pm. Group size: minimum 5 people, maximum 25 people. In the event of bad weather or too few registrations, the cycling tours will not take place.
