NS recommends postponing the journey or arranging replacement transport yourself.

Trade unions FNV Spoor, VVMC and CNV have announced strikes for Friday 9 September. Although the actions are regional, the action area is now larger and the NS trains and their colleagues run throughout the Netherlands. Looking at all options and the experiences of the previous strike days, the rail operator sees no possibility to run a timetable in a responsible, reliable and safe manner.

This means that no NS trains can run in the Netherlands all day on Friday 9 September. NS finds it extremely annoying that travelers are once again suffering so much from the impact of the actions. All the more so because NS made a new offer to the trade unions last Tuesday and invited them to resume the discussion. The unions have now accepted this invitation.CLA negotiations

NS wants to agree on a good collective labor agreement. Good for workers who have seen a rise in the cost of living and workload. And good for NS, which still faces major challenges. A collective labor agreement can only be concluded with all parties at the table. NS took a step yesterday and invited the trade unions for a renewed meeting. NS is disappointed that the unions decided to continue the strike despite this guideline. Although unions are not suspending the strike, NS believes it is important to resume the conversation. After all, it is in the interest of our travelers and their colleagues to quickly come to a good collective labor agreement.More promotions next week

The unions have also announced actions for Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 September. On Tuesday 13 September, several larger regions will again be involved. Actions are planned for Thursday 15 September in the Central Netherlands, the heart of NS's work area. Also for these days they expect that the regional strikes will have a major impact on NS train traffic throughout the Netherlands.NS recommends postponing the journey or arranging replacement transport yourself.
