The slight increase in sales in 2023 is due to a possible positive effect on the historically low consumer confidence caused by government interventions in the energy crisis.

The RAI Association and BOVAG expect the number of new passenger car registrations to reach 2023 by 340.000. The market will therefore pick up slightly next year compared to 2022. According to the forecast, the number of new light commercial vehicles in 2023 will be approximately 70.000. An increase compared to the 67.000 new light commercial vehicles that the market is likely to reach in 2022.

The slight increase in sales in 2023 is due to a possible positive effect on the historically low consumer confidence caused by government interventions in the energy crisis. In addition, it seems that some of the car manufacturers may be able to make up for their delivery backlog, because the supply of chips, parts and raw materials seems to be recovering somewhat.
