On Wednesday 9 November, the unions are organizing a major day of action and strike for purchasing power and against high inflation. Transport company De Lijn warns that the nuisance on bus and tram could be great on Wednesday, but the unions will also stop working at NMBS.

Your flight could also cause problems on Wednesday. It is therefore advisable to request all information in advance or to follow it on the websites of the relevant transport services. “How big the impact will be on the service provision, and where it will be felt most, is not yet certain,” writes De Lijn in a press release.

The common trade union front is holding a general day of action. The action is not directed against De Lijn, even though De Lijn personnel participate in it. In the context of the Decree on continuity of services, De Lijn will provide an adjusted timetable. This is composed on the basis of the drivers willing to work. In the course of Monday evening 7 November, this adjusted timetable will be announced, and therefore also the extent of the nuisance.
