In the context of the Decree on continuity of services, De Lijn will provide an adjusted timetable.

The common trade union front is organizing a general day of action on Wednesday 9 November. The action is not directed against De Lijn, even though De Lijn personnel participate in it. De Lijn certainly regrets the inconvenience this will entail for its bus and tram passengers.

The trade union front wants to send another signal to the government for more purchasing power. The action day will take place on Wednesday 9 November. This will cause hindrance to bus and tram services throughout Flanders. The extent of the impact on service provision and where it will be felt most is not yet known.

In the context of the Decree on continuity of services, De Lijn will provide an adjusted timetable. This is composed on the basis of the drivers willing to work. In the course of Monday evening 7 November, this adjusted timetable will be announced, and therefore also the extent of the nuisance

From Monday evening 7 November, the route planner will show, both on the website and in the app, all journeys that will run on Wednesday 9 November. Trips that are not running are not shown. The route planner always shows the most recent situation and can therefore still change slightly after Monday, e.g. due to last-minute illness reports from drivers.

Ghent tram from De Lijn

De Lijn is the Flemish government company that provides public transport by bus and tram in Flanders. Approximately 3,5 million people use De Lijn's services one or more times a year.

For its operation, the transport company receives a grant from the Flemish Region, the main shareholder. Ticket sales are the second source of income.

The De Lijn network has approximately 1 lines and 000 stops. All in all, the buses and trams make approximately 36 million journeys per year. Its own fleet consists of 000 11 buses and 2 trams. The private companies that run on behalf of De Lijn also have their own buses. They account for half of the bus kilometres.

With almost 8 employees, De Lijn is one of the largest employers in the country. The private operators also employ more than 000 people.
