Einride and AB InBev recently announced their partnership in the Benelux.

Einride and AB InBev recently announced their partnership in the Benelux. With the fully electric fleet of trucks for heavy transport between Brussels and Leuven, the brewer is expected to reduce its CO2 emissions by 500 tons annually.

“The Benelux is the beating heart of Europe and the ideal place to bring about change throughout the European Union. Over the past ten years, the EU has reduced greenhouse gas emissions in every sector, with the exception of the transport sector. emissions have only increased, with road freight transport remaining by far the largest polluter, and it is now time to take action to meet the target of halving emissions by 2030. With our industry-leading technology, built from the start has been electric since then, we want to contribute to significant emission reductions so that Europe can take the lead in the global race to net zero.”

Collaboration with the world's largest brewer, AB InBev

From the beginning of 2023, AB InBev will work with Einride to lead the large-scale roll-out of heavy electric transport on Belgian soil. Specifically, in a first phase, 6 electric Einride trucks will be taken into use between Brussels and Leuven, combined with the development, installation and construction of the charging infrastructure. These trucks will be deployed around Leuven and Brussels and will help the brewer in its ambition to be net zero in its entire supply chain by 2040.

"We no longer buy diesel trucks and will systematically replace every diesel truck that has been written off with an electric variant. As we start next year with the widespread deployment of electric vehicles for urban deliveries in Ghent, Brussels, Liège and Leuven, the partnership with Einride is for medium-haul electric heavy transport, the next step in our "Green Logistics" strategy. If the environment in which we work becomes more sustainable, the quality of the natural ingredients for brewing beer will also improve."

Einride's first freight transportation ecosystem

Einride contributes to a cost-effective future for freight transport. It uses its intelligent platform Einride Saga for this. Combined with the deployment of electric and autonomous fleets, charging infrastructure and connectivity networks, Einride provides its customers with a total solution. The company is the leading operator of heavy electric transport in Sweden and the US and recently announced launches in Germany and Norway. In these markets, Einride counts industrial giants such as the Haier company GE Appliances and Electrolux among its customers. Companies that have already engaged with Einride have seen a reduction in their CO2 emissions of up to 90%, while remaining cost competitive.

The collaboration with AB InBev in Belgium is just the beginning einride's expansion in the region, where it will soon make an even greater contribution to redesigning the transport sector by adding more customers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
