The six new vehicles have been given a fresh red and white jacket, Transdev's house style.

Residents, employees and visitors of the Fascinatio residential area and the Rivium business park in Capelle aan den IJssel can use the ParkShuttle again. This autonomous driverless vehicle connects the business park and residential area in Capelle with the Kralingse Zoom metro station in Rotterdam.

The ParkShuttle has been operating in this area since 1999. The previous generation of ParkShuttles was retired 3 years ago. Due to setbacks in the development, construction and testing of the new vehicles in combination with the corona pandemic, it took extra time before the vehicles could get back on the road.

free until January 6, 2023

Since December 5, traveling with the ParkShuttle is free for all travelers. The regular rate will apply from Monday 9 January 2023. The ParkShuttle will run parallel to the current shuttle bus for the first few weeks. Travelers, local residents and companies will be informed about this.

Transdev drives the shuttles on behalf of the Metropolitan Region Rotterdam The Hague (MRDH). The six new vehicles from supplier ZF have been given a fresh red and white jacket, in the Transdev house style. The six renewed shuttles use the latest techniques. For example, the software and hardware have been completely renewed. The infrastructure has also been adapted, for example by raising the height of the stops.

The ParkShuttle has been running between Kralingse Zoom and Rivium since 1999. The ParkShuttle is the smallest public transport concession in the Netherlands, but with an average of 1850 travelers per day (pre-corona) it is an important link in public transport. Thanks to the planned housing in the area and the connection with the water bus, even more travelers will be able to use this transport option in the future.
