The sister company of Corendon Dutch Airlines (Corendon Airlines International) has sent two buses with relief supplies such as water and blankets to the disaster area in recent days.

What a terrible situation in Turkey and Syria, as a result of a severe earthquake, more than 15.000 people have already died. The Cooperating aid organizations have now opened Giro555 to help the victims of the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey. Next Wednesday there will be a national action day in the Netherlands, during which radio and TV channels will be all about the fundraising campaign. Help is offered from all parts of the world, for example by sending fundraisers and rescue teams.

The Turkish/Dutch airline Corendon also offers free assistance. Last Monday, a Corendon Dutch Airlines aircraft for the Dutch search and rescue team Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) flew from Eindhoven Airport to the Turkish airport of Adana. 65 rescue workers and eight rescue dogs boarded a Corendon Boeing 737 to help in the disaster area. Corendon's aircraft was chartered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Corendon indicates that he wants to help even more. If aid organizations want to transport goods to Turkey, they can do so for free via their flights.

These buses were then used again to pick up survivors from the disaster area and bring them to the Corendon Hotel Grand Park Lara in Antalya, where the victims can stay temporarily. Corendon indicates that more buses will be deployed in the disaster area in the near future to accommodate survivors. Three airports in Turkey have been closed to commercial air traffic due to the earthquake. There will be a lot help are needed for heavily affected Turkey and Syria, hopefully a lot of money will be collected next week with the national day of action.
