On 15 March last year, NS started the NS Voordeel pilot on the The Hague Central - Eindhoven Central route and the larger stations in between. Two routes will be added to this as of 20 February 2023: Den Helder – Utrecht Central and Groningen – Utrecht Central.
Who wouldn't want a discount on your train ticket? Affordable and sustainable travel between Den Helder – Utrecht Central, Groningen – Utrecht Central or The Hague Central – Eindhoven Central? This is possible if you buy your train ticket at least one day before departure, choose a favorable time slot and benefit from a discount. Depending on the selected journey and departure time, you will see whether NS Voordeel is available and how much discount you will receive. The discount can be up to 60% on the regular rate. The discount is applied in both directions of the routes and in the chosen time slot. The quieter the journey, the lower the price. This train ticket can be purchased from today in the NS app and on the website.

With NS Voordeel you can only sit on the train during the chosen time slot. Departure and arrival therefore fall within the chosen time slot. NS Voordeel is not available for the public transport chip card, as a subscription or as a day return. The purpose of NS Advantage is to better spread the crowds in the trains and make the train even more affordable.
