From 11 to 19 March, the TEFAF art fair will be held at MECC Maastricht.

Widely regarded as the world's most important fair, TEFAF Maastricht is for fine art, antiques and design. With more than 240 prestigious dealers from around 20 countries, TEFAF Maastricht is a showcase for the finest works of art currently on the market. We have put together some travel tips to plan your trip to TEFAF.

If you come by public transport, it is sstation Maastricht Randwyck 250 meters from the MECC. You can reach this station with the Arriva trains from Roermond and Heerlen. From Maastricht central station you have train connections with Eindhoven/Amsterdam, Brussels and Aachen/Cologne. You can easily travel to the MECC from Maastricht's central station by bus. There are several lines where you can get off at the Forum MECC stop.

The TEFAF 2023 taxi services offer complete packages with driver services during your visit to Maastricht. You can choose to travel with Maastricht's most famous taxi from or to the airport or book a complete service with car and driver. During TEFAF, together with fellow taxi drivers, they form a close-knit and professional team that puts the wishes and safety of the customer first. If you need an airport pick-up or a driver during your stay in Maastricht or your trip to TEFAF, they will be happy to assist you.

Are you coming by car yourself?on the A2 motorway coming from the north, take exit 55 Randwyck/MECC/MUMC+. Coming from the south take exit 56 Gronsveld. From the exit, follow the signage to MECC to find a parking space at the art fair. There are several parking garages and areas (P1, P2, P3, P5, P6 and P9) at the MECC within a maximum of 10 minutes walking distance from the exhibition. You can also use P+R Maastricht Noord.

Are you a resident or are you from the area? Then think about the bicycle. At the MECC there is a free bicycle shed under the Maastricht Passage - in front of the main entrance of the MECC - or use one of the bicycle racks around the MECC.

In addition to the traditional areas of old master paintings, antiques and classical antiquities that make up about half of the fair, you will also find modern and contemporary art, photography, jewellery, 20th century design and works on paper. From 11 to 19 March, the TEFAF art fair will be held at MECC Maastricht. In 2023 there will be two closed preview days on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 March. The art fair attracts an average of 70.000 visitors.

The opening of the 2023 program on March 11 is a Financial Times talk featuring three art collectors who have their own foundations and explaining why and how they created them. The panel consists of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Harald Falckenberg and Joop van Caldenborgh; the panel is moderated by Georgina Adam.
