After more than two years, they decided to take a different route.

The cooperative Grid, nominated for the Taxi Innovation Prize last year, is already choosing a different route that, as it now looks, could mean a dead end. The vision seemed promising. Creating opportunities for smaller players in the taxi market by eliminating the disadvantages of small scale while retaining the advantages. This was the objective by organizing cooperation in a cooperative context.

“We have achieved a lot! We have launched a well-functioning application, developed a strong identity and created brand awareness in the Amsterdam taxi market. In addition, we have built an organization with all the systems and structures necessary to run a successful business,” said the chairman and Grid founder Dave Theunissen.

"Time is catching up with us and financial resources are slowly but surely being exhausted. This is the reason for the board to set other priorities and park Grid."

“Together with our stakeholders and participants, we have invested time, money and energy in our company. We have made so much progress that it would be a shame to wipe it all out. If there is anyone who believes in the concept and sees new opportunities for Grid, we are open to a discussion about this. If this does not happen, we will eventually dissolve the cooperative,” said Theunissen in a statement on his LinkedIn.

The intentions were good. Cooperation and mutual involvement had to lead to creativity and synergy. Exploiting the power of their technology and the organization by working together. Collaboration was fundamental to success and Grid would become the alternative to Uber and Bolt. Unfortunately, despite all good intentions, this goal will also be parked.
