Get ready for the annual overwhelming experience full of thundering drums and booming bass.

Graspop Metal Meeting, the largest metal festival in Flanders, is just around the corner and will take place from 19 to 24 June in Dessel. This year, festival goers are again welcomed with a unique service: free shuttle buses from De Lijn. In collaboration with the organizers of Graspop, De Lijn ensures an environmentally friendly and efficient way of traveling between Mol station and the festival site.

De free shuttle buses run every ten minutes and are available from Wednesday 19 June to Monday 24 June. The timetable is as follows: Wednesday from 13.30:22.30 PM to 7.30:2.30 PM, Thursday from 8.00:2.30 AM to 7.30:13.00 AM, Friday to Sunday from 40:XNUMX AM to XNUMX:XNUMX AM and Monday from XNUMX:XNUMX AM to XNUMX:XNUMX PM. The travel time between Mol station and the festival grounds is approximately XNUMX minutes. During these periods, travelers without a ticket can use the shuttle service, which does not serve intermediate stops.

However, anyone traveling on regular bus lines must carry a valid ticket to avoid fines. Festival goers can plan their route via the De Lijn app, which provides a lot of convenience in preparing for the festival.

A challenge for this year is the persistent rainy weather, which has forced the Graspop organization to come up with an emergency plan: all parking spaces will remain closed for the time being. The heavy rain has made the parking lots unusable, which is a major setback for those who want to come by car. The organization therefore strongly advises visitors to use public transport to reach the Boneyard and Inferno campsites. Despite these obstacles, the organization is optimistic about the further course of the festival and expects the weather to improve.

Graspop Metal Meeting is completely sold out, with an impressive line-up of bands such as Tool, Judas Priest, Bring Me the Horizon and Scorpions. The festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for the many metal fans who come to Dessel every year.

The impact of the rainy weather is not only limited to Graspop. Rock Werchter, which takes place from 4 to 7 July, is also experiencing problems due to excessive rainfall. Many parking areas are still flooded, although the festival site and The Hive campsite are in good condition thanks to water pumping out. The Rock Werchter organization is closely monitoring the situation and continues to take the necessary measures to ensure that this festival can also run smoothly.

With these weather conditions and the logistical adjustments that come with them, it remains important for festival goers to stay well informed and use the available transport options. This way they can fully enjoy the musical performances and the unique atmosphere Graspop en Rock Werchter to offer.
