We know global player AIT Worldwide Logistics in the Netherlands through the acquisition of Lubbers Logistics Group, a European logistics company that specializes in high-quality, complex and time-critical transport services.

Lubbers, headquartered in Schoonebeek, the Netherlands, has established itself over the past century as a leading provider of first-class transport solutions for high-value segments, specializing in road transport, project cargo and global forwarding services. With more than 350 employees working across nine road transport hubs and nine freight locations, Lubbers has an extensive network of strategically located facilities across Europe.

Lubbers' network added 18 new offices to AIT's existing global network of more than 130 locations, while expanding AIT's footprint into three new countries: Denmark, Romania and Turkey. Lubbers also has facilities in Germany, Italy, Norway and the United Kingdom. ACM

On November 22, 2023, the proposed concentration between AIT Euro Holding BV and Lubbers Logistics Group BV was notified to the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (hereinafter: ACM). It was a notification within the meaning of Article 34 of the Competition Act. The transaction falls under merger control as referred to in Chapter 5 of the Competition Act. The ACM investigated this proposed concentration and a permit was not required. The ACM has seen no reason to assume that the proposed concentration would significantly impede effective competition on the Dutch market or part of it.
