According to ABN Amro, MaaS is a promising solution. This is subject to the condition that people can reach their destination just as easily by partial transport as by their own car.
“MaaS has a lot of potential, provided the transport offer can compete with your own car when it comes to convenience, trust and price,” says Franka Rolvink Couzy, head of the Research sector at ABN Amro.
In practice, it appears that many people do not think the available alternative transport is good enough. Especially because it does not meet the 'door to door' need. Partial transport is seen as 'hassle': a car must be reserved in advance and often a walk must be done before the journey can start. In addition, partial transport is not available everywhere in the immediate vicinity.
People should consider partial transport, but only if three conditions are met: convenience, trust and a 'realistic' price.
