To accommodate companies with a large stationary fleet, the RDW is expanding the collectors' scheme suspend from. Normally, only older vehicles can be advantageously suspended with this scheme. Due to the corona crisis, the collector scheme may now be used for all vehicles, regardless of age. This applies for 3 months.

Due to the measures taken by the cabinet, many vehicles in the rental, taxi and transport sector are currently stationary. In response to questions from the sector, the RDW is expanding the collectors scheme for suspensions as of today. It is now possible to pay the regular suspension rate for only five vehicles, the suspension is free for each subsequent vehicle (so from the sixth vehicle).

This arrangement applies for a period of 3 months for all vehicles, regardless of age. Normally, only older vehicles with this special scheme can be suspended, but due to the corona crisis, the collector scheme can now be used for all vehicles.

Note: If you terminate the suspension within one month after the start of the suspension, you will still have to pay motor vehicle tax for the period in which the registration certificate was suspended.

By suspending a vehicle, an owner does not have to meet the vehicle obligations (insurance, motor vehicle tax and possibly MOT) for a certain period.
