Following the amendment of the rules for holidays from the United Kingdom to Spain, the island's largest tour operator, TUI, has canceled all flights from the Kingdom to Spain scheduled for Sunday. Things are going the wrong way with the corona epidemic in many countries.

The number of infections is increasing again and experts are very concerned. Flights to the Balearic and Canary Islands are continuing for the time being and the Government of Madrid is trying to persuade the United Kingdom to make an exception for the islands in terms of the quarantine measure.

More than 24 new infections were reported in France in 1.000 hours yesterday, up 26 percent from a week ago. At a time when France is considering closing the border crossings to Spain because they, in turn, think it is going the wrong way in Spain.

The UK determined this weekend that non-essential travel to mainland Spain is not recommended. Travelers already on holiday in Spain must be quarantined for two weeks when they return home. Many holidaymakers react to this in the Daily Mail.

The Spanish government has spoken against the decision of the United Kingdom on Sunday to adjust the travel advice to the southern European country because according to the government, the country is safe for tourists and there is no need for mandatory quarantine after returning, according to the Spanish Secretary of State Arancha González Laya.
