The travel advice for the Greek islands will be changed from code yellow to code orange on Tuesday. The big question now is: can we go on holiday to Greece during the autumn holidays? This is a question no one can answer and we will have to wait and see. Only travel to these islands when absolutely necessary, not for a vacation. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Netherlands worldwide). Travelers returning from the Greek islands are strongly advised to go into quarantine for 10 days. The number of people infected with the corona virus while on holiday on one of the Greek islands has risen sharply. This has consequences for the travel advice for the Greek islands. The Greek peninsula Peloponnese and the Greek mainland remain code yellow.

'Current travel advice makes sun vacations next fall virtually impossible. I think it is terrible to see that now also the holidaymakers in Greece are affected. They, but we too, have been surprised by this travel advice. A very unpleasant surprise, all the more so since it is possible to travel to Greece from neighboring countries', says Arjan Kers of TUI Netherlands. newspaper De Stentor.

People traveling to Greece should keep in mind that they have a Passenger Locator Shape (LPF). This must be completed at least 24 hours before arrival in Greece. This form can be downloaded from the Netherlands worldwide website. When this form is completed you will receive a QR code that you need to enter Greece. You cannot enter Greece without this QR code. Throughout Greece, it will be mandatory to wear a face mask in public transport, in all shops, banks, taxis, elevators and all other public and public places from 29 July. You risk a fine of EUR 150 if you do not wear a mouth mask.
