Cleantron has developed a powerful battery system for light electric vehicles, such as electric scooters and minicars. High Power Multi Pack Configuration (HP MPC) technology combines a built-in lithium-ion battery with compact, portable lithium-ion batteries and a DC / DC converter. Vehicle manufacturers can use this to generate higher powers without the need for additional charging infrastructure. The patented system is a revolution in the field of e-mobility and offers perspectives for the electric transport of people and goods for personal and business use.

Electric driving is popular, but many countries cannot (sufficiently) expand the charging infrastructure in urban environments. This hinders a further advance of e-mobility with electric vehicles and LEVs (Light Electric Vehicles). In addition, exchangeable batteries are often heavy and difficult to handle and limit vehicle performance. That is why Cleantron developed modular technology to increase capacity (Multi Pack Configuration or MPC) and generate more power (High Power MPC). High Power MPC is a groundbreaking battery system that can facilitate the energy transition in transport.

No concessions: three-in-one

cleantron has many years of experience in the development and production of 48V portable lithium-ion batteries. Based on this expertise, a special engineer team developed the High Power MPC system. This is an integrated system in which one fixed lithium-ion battery with high power (High Power) and one or more lightweight, portable lithium-ion batteries (for capacity) work together intelligently via a special, uni-directional DC / DC converter from Cleantron. without sacrificing performance (range and power). To ensure that the vehicle can drive for a long time and accelerate well, the portable batteries provide as much energy as possible (kWh) and the fixed battery for maximum power (W). Both the portable battery part and the fixed battery meet the safety requirements of ECE R100 (electric vehicles) and NEN-EN 50604-1 (rechargeable lithium batteries).

Portable, touch-safe lithium-ion batteries

Cleantron has designed the portable part in such a way that as much energy as possible (2 to 2,5 kWh per battery) is supplied with batteries that are as light and compact as possible. A vehicle compartment can contain several low voltage batteries (less than 60V). The end user can therefore change the touch-safe batteries without risk. The portable batteries weigh up to 10 kg and are therefore really portable. To achieve this low weight, Cleantron limits the discharge power, so that lighter wiring and smaller connectors can be used and wear on the battery cells is limited. In addition, the compact dimensions of the battery compartment make battery changes easy.

The portable batteries are connected in parallel via the existing Cleantron MPC system. This system regulates communication between the batteries, each of which has its own BMS (Battery Management System) for safety reasons. The MPC system determines which battery should be activated based on the charge status of the portable batteries and switches to it automatically and seamlessly. The number of batteries to be linked is in principle endless; the low weight of the portable batteries makes the MPC system modular in design.

Various DC / DC converters

The DC / DC converter ensures that the portable batteries recharge the High Power part of the system (the fixed battery). A low, constant discharge current flows from the portable batteries to the fixed battery via the converter. Due to the absence of peaks, less heating and wear of the fixed battery takes place and it is optimally used. Cleantron offers a choice of three types of converters (48/48 V, 48/100 V and 48/400 V) for different powertrains.

Fixed lithium-ion battery of your choice

Cleantron can supply a low-voltage or high-voltage battery for the fixed battery part, in line with the relevant powertrain and performance requirements. In addition, tailored to use, there is a choice of batteries of different chemical composition, in particular LFP and LTO (low voltage) and NMC and NCA (high voltage). The fixed battery has a capacity of your choice between 1 and 60 kWh. Cleantron can configure the optimal battery part based on these options, taking into account costs, performance and lifespan.

Optimal for every application and range

The new High Power MPC system offers vehicle manufacturers the opportunity to combine portable batteries and a fixed battery in an application-specific and optimal manner. The system is particularly suitable for micro-mobility (two-wheelers, such as electric motorcycles and scooters, and minicars), urban distribution (last mile delivery cargo), multi-person transport (taxis and vans) and maritime applications (sloops, water taxis and motor yachts). By thinking along in a customer-oriented way, Cleantron can design and put together the optimal configuration for every application and action radius.
