The advice of our government is that we should not travel until at least mid-January and therefore not go on vacation, if it is really necessary. This advice does not apply to the islands of the Netherlands Antilles if this code is yellow. At the moment Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao and Sint Maarten have code yellow. The result of this advice is that people en masse book a holiday to these islands. The islands of Saba and St. Eustatius still have code orange.

A few weeks ago, there were almost no corona infections in Curaçao. Now we see that the number of infections is also rising again in Curaçao. This is probably because many tourists have come to Curaçao for a holiday. Three weeks ago there were about 3 corona cases on Curaçao, now there are more than 300, according to the Telegraaf. We therefore have to wait for when this island will switch from code yellow to code orange again. From today, stricter measures apply in Curaçao to prevent the further spread of the corona virus. These stricter measures will certainly apply for the coming 1200 weeks.

Recently it is travel advice of our government for the island of St. Maarten also changed from code orange to code yellow. The number of corona infections on this island has decreased. You do not have to go into home quarantine when you return to the Netherlands. This will probably also ensure that many Dutch people will book a holiday to this island. Ultimately, it is also a matter of waiting on this island for more corona infections when holidays are booked en masse. It is ultimately a matter of time.
